Obituary for Harvey Threadcraft Jr.

Harvey Threadcraft Jr., also known as "June," was born on February 2, 1942, to Harvey Threadcraft Sr. and Louise Threadcraft in Calhoun County, GA. He was the 2' of six children born to this union.

Harvey graduated from George Washington Carver High School in Douglas, GA. He was drafted into the United States Army where he served his country for four years. During that time, Harvey received numerous medals for his service and bravery which included National Defense Service Metal, Marksman with M-14 Rifle and Good Conduct Medal.

Harvey worked as a Power Plant Operator in the Army and he retired from Xerox as an expeditor. He was also a D.J. known as "Groove Maker". He loved spinning records, listening to blues and being with people. Harvey enjoyed fishing and playing golf in his spare time. He was a mild-mannered man with a quiet spirit and a good friend. Harvey was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Edwina Bailey; a brother, Bobbie Threadcraft and the love of his life Mildred Hill. He leaves to cherish his memory two sisters, Betty King and JoAnn Simmons of Rochester, NY; a brother, Lenorris Threadcraft (Barbara) of Albany, GA; daughters, SonjaThreadcraft, Lorrie Johnson of Charlotte, NC, Brenda Marshall, Tina Bretton, Catonya Threadcraft, Tracy Threadcraft; a son, Jeremy Threadcraft, all of Rochester, NY; Two-step children, Rhonda Hill of Rochester, NY and Maurice Hill of Jacksonville, FL; an aunt, Mary Nell Lawrence of Rochester, NY.
