Obituary for Delores M. McDew

Delores Marie McDew was born February 1, 1944 in Gifford, Florida. Her parents
were Sam Walter and Annie Marie Wise Sharp. She graduated from Gifford High
School with the Class of 1961.

She moved to Rochester, New York in 1965 to seek medical help for her youngest
son, Ozell Jr. (who preceded her in death). She later received her nursing degree from
Monroe Community College. Soon after, she became a member of the Chi Eta Phi
Sorority.

New Progressive Cathedral Church of God in Christ was her place of worship. She
was a proud member of this family of God. They loved her dearly, and she loved them
in return.

She was a vivacious, phenomenal and strong matriarch to her family. She loved
fishing, traveling, taking cruises, and playing a good game of spades or scrabble.
Delores celebrated 60 plus years of marriage to her devoted husband, "MACK". If she
wasn't with him, you could find her with her best friend of 50 plus years, Beverlyn
Johnson.

Delores went to be with the Lord on July 21, 2022. Preceded in death by: her parents,
Sam Walter and Annie Marie Wise Sharp, a son, Ozell McDew Jr. and a daughter,
Thenetta Faye McDew, she will be remembered by a wealth of people, especially her
loving family, who include: her husband, Ozell McDew; her son, Alvin Duane McDew;
grandson, Alvin McDew; granddaughters, Jennifer Belcher (Mary Belcher) and
Delores Marie McDew II; sisters, Annie Grace Sharp Foster and Goldie Lester; greatniece, Goldie (Lance) Moore, and a host of generations of family members, church
family, and friends.
