Obituary for Lenette J. Crumpler

Lenette Joyce Crumpler passed away quietly at home in Gates, N.Y. on Tuesday, April 6. 2021 at the age 69.

Lenette was born in Cocoa Beach, Florida; to James Crumpler and Fannie Myers (both predeceased), on March 17, 1952 and raised in Williamson, New York.

As a child Lenette enjoyed being a girl scout, playing with her dog and spending time with her many cousin's. Throughout her high school years Lenette was known for her great debating skills. Upon graduation from Williamson High School, Lenette went on to work at Rochester Telephone company, now known as Frontier communication. Moving her way up through the company. Retiring after 40 years of service, as an Engineering Administrator

Lenette was especially proud to have represented and testified in front of the United States congressional committee in Washington, D.C. The hearing involving Global Crossings and their telecommunications accounting scam. Her powerful and emotional testimony was the landmark of the hearing. To this day her words are thought to be the catalyst behind the return of millions of dollars and the judgment handed down to Global Crossing.

Lenette enjoyed traveling the world through out her life. Lenette also loved horseback riding, reading, writing, gardening, watching classic movies, and listening to music. She was unbelievably smart, avid conversationalist, with a great sense of humor and certain way of retelling & delivering a story. However, most of all, Lenette, loved spending time with her family and her childhood best friend, Leatrice Flowers.

Lenette is loving remembered by her children Daniel Walker of Rochester, N.Y. and Malika Crumpler of Rochester, N.Y. Her grandson of Rochester, N.Y. Brendon Diaz. Her sister Patricia Ann (Robert) Mallory of Rochester, N.Y. Her brother James H. (Marsha) Crumpler, Jr. of Deltona, FL and sister Cynthia (James- predeceased) Pigrim of Greece, New York and her best friend, Leatrice (son-Michael) Flowers of Columbia, S.C. As well as a host of niece's, nephew's and others who also called and thought of her as, "mom".

Lenette was loved and will be truly missed by her family and many friends.

A wake will be held on Thursday, April 15th, 2021 from 5-7p at Metropolitan Funeral Chapels, 109 West Avenue, Rochester, N.Y.14611

Followed by a celebration of life held on April 16th, 2021 at 11am at Metropolitan Funeral Chapel.
