Obituary for Shelly M. Bass

On August 4th, 1967. Shelly Marie Bass was born to Georgia Johnson and the late Charles Cheeks in Rochester, NY. She attended Franklin High School from 1980 to 1985 and went on to obtain a degree from Bryant & Stratton. She worked for the Monroe Developmental Center in the late 80’s into the early 90’s in Dietary. During the time ,she married into the Bass Family and was the wife to Michael O. Bass. She began working at Jonathan Childs in the late 90’s until 2007 in the health care arena and continued working in the health care community up until 2019. Shelly calling in life was always to help and embrace everyone she set forth and encountered . From there her everyday trained social ability to help any and everyone, she restarted her educational drive and attended, graduated with distinction, made the Dean’s list every semester with obtaining an Associate in Applied Science in Human Services in 2014. She always had people walk up and talk to her randomly off the street, in the transit center, or even standing in the check out line giving her the run on their lives; lending an ear and being someone else’s comfort. You could always see and catch her at any good concert or event in Winter, Spring, Summer, or Fall she was there and always had her a good seat; she loved her some music. Being big on family, being around with always having great time with family, and making family events worth wild, she always supported the cause. She was member of Fountain Missionary Baptist Church and was baptized in 2012.
