Obituary for Narayan Deshpande
Dear Friends and Family of Dr. Narayan V. Deshpande,
Our dear Narayan V. Deshpande passed away on Tuesday, September 10. He was 81 years old and is survived by his wife of 53 years, Asha, as well as their daughters Madhavi Deshpande, Shilpa Williams and Varsha Agnihotri, along with her husband Hersh and son Rushil.
He was born in Bhadwan, India but lived the majority of his life in Rochester, NY. He was a pillar of the Indian community and could always be counted on to assist with all matters, from officiating various Hindu ceremonies to fixing a water heater. Through his academic and professional careers as well as community service, he touched the lives of many people and will be deeply missed.
The Funeral Service at Metropolitan Funeral Chapels, Inc. and Cremation Service at Mt Hope Crematory took place on the same day on September 10, 2019.
Those that would like to celebrate his life are welcome to attend the Memorial Service that will be held at the Hindu Temple of Rochester, 120 Pinnacle Rd in Pittsford, on Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 3:30-5:30pm.
In lieu of gifts, please donate money to Pune Vidyarthi Griha or Maharashtra Foundation, both of which support the underserved Indian population, or to The Hindu Temple of Rochester (note Kitchen Remodel Project).
