Obituary for Charles King

Charles King was born on December 31, 1948 in Sanford, Florida to Evelyn Kitt. He was the second of nine children.

Charles grew up in Rochester, New York and attended James Madison High School. He was employed at Country Sweet and McDonald’s Restaurants before becoming disabled. He attended several churches in the Rochester area.

Charles was a loving son to his mother, and a devoted father to his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed attending his social program at St. Ann’s Home Connection where he was able to show his gardening skills and participated in Arts and Crafts. Charles’ other hobby was occasionally engaging in a good game of billiards.

Charles departed this life on Saturday, August 12, 2017 after a brief illness. He is preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Kitt; one sister, Lacy Mae Jones; and two brothers: Robert Lee Kitt and Timothy J. King. He leaves to cherish his memories; two sons: William Charles and Billy John Kendrick; 5 brothers: Walter, Jerome, Samuel, Michael and John Kitt; 2 uncles: Charles “Buddy” King and Dr. Henry Lee (Peggy) King; 1 aunt: Bessie Haywood; 4 nieces: Melisa and Michelle Jones, Rosie Walker, and Nicole (Nicky); 6 nephews: Louis King, Martin Jones, Tremain Denton, Abasi Kitt, Michael, Jr. and Adam Kitt; 11 grandchildren: Keairra, Ceyras, Malik, Marlon, Ayden, Lala, Essence, Zaria, Jazmine, Billy Kendrick, Jr. and Jeniah Turner; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
