Lucille Anthony was born on December 12, 1939 in Far Rockaway, New York to the late
Willie Hermon and Almer Robinson.
She departed this earthly life suddenly on March 5, 2017 at Strong Memorial
Hospital. Around the age of 30 she relocated to Rochester, New York where she met
and married the late William Anthony. Lucille later became affiliated with First
Born Church of the Living God in Rochester, NY. In 1974, she became an evangelist at
Mount Nebo Church of Rochester, NY. In the late 1990's she began attending Faith
Temple Church of Brighton where she was confirmed and graduated from Faith Temple's
Catechism class in May 2002 and became a member.
Lucille was blessed with 6 children. She was known to many as "Big Momma" and
"Pumpkin". She worked at Harris Company and Hickey Freeman where she was a
seamstress for many years before owning her own bridal company L&T Bridal. Lucille
loved to cook, travel, and have fun sharing time with her grandchildren, making them
stay up late as she sewed. Her biggest passion was being a seamstress, making
clothes, and helping others as well.
Lucille was predeceased by her sisters Bertha Isaac, Catherine Jones, and Mary
Smallwood; and brother Wallace Hermon. She leaves to cherish her precious memories
6 children; 1 son Jimmy (Michelle) Wilson of Charlotte, NC; 5 daughters Maria
Edwards of Jersey City, NJ; Ellamae Prater, of Baltimore , MD; Cynthia (Martin)
Dean, Marsha Wilson-Adams, Tawanna (Keith) Rogers all of Rochester, NY; an adopted
daughter Crystal Goines, a special son-in-law Wesley J. Adams also of Rochester, NY.
3 sisters Dorothy Hopkin, Janie Mae Montgomery of Hopkins, SC; Henrietta (Larry)
Goodwin of Gadsden, SC; 2 brothers Willie (Betty) Johnson of Hopkins, SC, and Leon
(Dorothy) Johnson of Columbia, SC. She also leaves to cherish her memories many
grand and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, God-children, and many
other relatives and friends
